Gateway for Miners & Dealers

1. About Our Service & Your Eligibility

We are your secure facilitation partner. We provide licensed miners and dealers in Tanzania and Kenya with a complete, legal pipeline to sell gemstones and gold directly to international buyers at true market prices. We manage the complex process of finding vetted buyers, securing legal export permits, and arranging safe logistics. We never take ownership of your assets; we empower you to complete the sale yourself, with our expert guidance at every step.

Our service is for licensed and legitimate businesses. You must have:

  • A valid Primary Mining License (PML), Gemstone Dealer’s License, or equivalent from the Tanzanian or Kenyan authorities.
  • A registered business with a Tax Identification Number (TIN/KRA PIN).
  • Gemstones or gold that are legally acquired, with all government royalties paid, accompanied by valid Government Mineral Certificates.

Absolutely. This is a core part of our service. You do not need a personal export license. We work through official, licensed export partners in Tanzania and Kenya who handle all the legal compliance and act as the official exporter of record for your shipment. You remain the rightful seller.

2. Costs, Fees & Payment Security

Our consultancy fee is $5,000 USD, paid in two clear stages:

  • Retainer ($2,500): Paid upon signing. This covers our Phase 1 work: legal audit, strategy, and preparation of your sales portfolio.
  • Dossier Fee ($2,500): Paid upon your approval of the confidential Market Entry Dossier in Phase 2. This covers buyer matching, dossier delivery, and initiation of export paperwork.
  • A 2% Transaction Success Fee is payable only upon the successful completion of a sale with an introduced buyer.

You are responsible for:

  • Government Fees: Royalties (e.g., 5-6% in Tanzania), export permit fees, and any taxes.
  • Third-Party Costs: Optional GIA certification, logistics (G4S, international courier), insurance, and travel costs if you choose to personally deliver the goods.

Payment security is our top priority. Our process is designed around one golden rule: You get paid before the shipment leaves East Africa. We structure all transactions using secure methods like:

  • Escrow Services: The buyer’s money is held by a neutral third party and released to you only after the buyer confirms receipt and inspection.
  • Irrevocable Letters of Credit (L/C): A guarantee of payment from the buyer’s bank to yours upon presentation of shipping documents. We advise against and help you avoid risky methods like open account terms or large cash payments.

3. The Legal & Documentation Process

The process is transparent and phased:

Phase 1: Readiness;

  • Business License, Mining/Dealer License, TIN, Mineral Receipts, Inventory List. What We Handle; We verify everything and advise on certification (e.g., GIA)

Phase 2: Export Prep;

  • Signed Sales Contract with the buyer.

What We Handle;

  • We engage our licensed export partners to obtain the Mineral Export Permit, Certificate of Origin, and manage royalty payments on your behalf.

Phase 3: Shipment;

Your cooperation for final inspection.

  • We coordinate the government’s physical inspection and sealing of the shipment and manage logistics with secure partners (G4S, Brink’s).

Compliance is non-negotiable. Our licensed partners ensure full alignment with:

  • Tanzania: The Mining Act, Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) regulations, and Kimberley Process principles.
  • Kenya: The Mining Act and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) customs procedures.
  • The government’s physical sealing of the shipment container is the final step before the export permit is issued. Breaking this seal before export voids the permit, which is why we use secured logistics.

4. The Sales & Delivery Process

We leverage a 45-year network to match your specific inventory with pre-vetted buyers in hubs like Dubai, Hong Kong, and Europe. We offer two pathways:

  • Market Introduction Trip: We organize a trip for you to meet potential buyers, taking only certified samples (not for sale) to showcase quality.
  • Buyer Inspection in East Africa: Serious buyers are invited to send their gemologist to inspect the full commercial parcel at our secured facilities in Arusha or Nairobi.

You have full control:

  • Option A (We Manage): After you are paid, we coordinate the entire secure chain: local armed transport (G4S) to the airport, handover to the buyer’s international courier (e.g., Brink’s).
  • Option B (You Deliver): sealed parcel to the buyer. For an additional fee, a Zaka consultant can accompany you to facilitate the final meeting (travel costs covered by client).

Our protocols are designed for fairness. If using an escrow service with inspection in a neutral vault (like Dubai), the buyer bears the cost of return shipping if they reject without cause. Crucially, for inspections in Tanzania/Kenya, this risk is eliminated—the buyer inspects and confirms before payment is released to you, so there is no post-shipment rejection.

5. Risk Management Trust

We mitigate this risk in three ways:

  • No Commercial Inventory Travel: Our contract forbids you from personally traveling with commercial quantities of stones.
  • Insured, Professional Couriers: All shipments use top-tier, insured services like G4S and Brink’s.
  • Clear Risk Transfer: Using FCA (Free Carrier) Incoterms, your risk ends when the goods are handed to the courier at a designated point in East Africa.

Trust is built on transparency and structure.

  • We Are Facilitators, Not Principals: We never take title to your goods or your money. Our interest is aligned with your success through our clear fee structure.
  • Process is King: We have a documented, phased process (see Schedules A, B, C of our contract) that we follow meticulously, giving you visibility at every stage.
  • Focus on Your Security: Our entire model is built around getting you paid first and using only legally compliant, secure methods.
